It seems that Chris Welsh, who enters the Cape Town club games into the ranking system and announces resulting rank changes, is too modest to announce his own promotions. But some of us are tired of getting beaten up by him on an 8 stone handicap, so I’m afraid I have to insist on making his promotion to 7 kyu known to the world at large. Congrats!
