Hi folks.
Tonight there’s a SAGA Council meeting, as you may have noticed on the calendar on the right-hand column of the website. Otherwise, I’ve added a summary of the status with the planning of the African Oza, and fleshed out the info on the 2006 South African Open. Note that the tournaments are being held together in Stellenbosch over the weekend of 24-26 February. If you want to take part, let Steve Kroon know as soon as possible.
Aketa-sensei has indicated that he would like to leave South Africa a little earlier than originally planned, which means that he will only be in Gauteng for March and April, and not in May.
I’ve also added “Go Game Assistant” to the “Resources: Software” section of the links in the left-hand bar, although it could also have gone under “Resources: Games” and “Resources: (Fu/Jo)seki” sections, since it features over 50, 000 pro games and 4000 joseki variations. It’s shareware, but registering for $29 gets rid of the “Please register” screens. All those games and variations take up some space, so the download is about 38 MB.
Finally, I’ve updated the Europe (EGF) link under “Go Organisations” to point to their new website.
