To all SAGA members and prospective SAGA members
This is a reminder that SAGA enters a new financial year on 1 Jan 2006, and
that annual membership fees are payable in advance and fall due on that date
(see sections 9.3, 4.2 and 3.1.3 of the constitution, as amended on 10 Sep 2005).
Paying membership fees gives you the following direct benefits:
1. First-time members paying the full R 80 fee (see below) receive an introductory book (Cho Chikun’s “Go: A Complete Introduction to the Game” or something similar).
2. Members who have attained the rank of 20 kyu get a say in how SAGA is run
by voting in general meetings and/or serving on the council.
3. Members can earn a sponsored trip to the World Amateur Go Championship in
Japan by accumulating credit points.
To get a sense of other indirect benefits, see SAGA’s financial statements.
The amounts payable and SAGA’s banking details are:
Non-students: R 80
Tertiary students: R 35
Primary/secondary students: R 20
Bank: Nedbank
Account number: 1977004199
Account name: South African Go Association

Payments into the bank account should be confirmed with the treasurer,
Sakkie Buys.
If you are willing to volunteer to collect membership fees on SAGA’s behalf
at your club/tournament, please also contact Sakkie. This will be greatly
appreciated.
Thank you for your support
