Aketa’s Visit Redux

Mr. Aketa will be visiting the Joburg Club this Tuesday. He’s here on a short visit (length unknown), evaluating whether he should come back for a much longer visit (a year or so). Apparently, he’s a gifted go teacher and specialises in getting people to shodan in months.

Anyway, we need to show that we are interested in receiving lessons for him (if we don’t, the guys in the Cape will, and then he’ll disappear down there). Therefore, Dave and I were thinking of having some events with him (a series of lessons divided by strength level, for example) this weekend, and maybe something later this week. We do need to talk to him on Tuesday and find out his exact plans.

Please do let us know if your interested in receiving high quality go teaching.

Because of an expected increase in activity this month with Aketa’s visit, the October Handicap Tournament looks like it’ll be canceled and maybe rescheduled for later in the year.

Two other bits of news: 1) Due to the lack of opposition to purchasing the video lectures, we’re gonna go ahead with it. 2) Ben’s Internet has been down, but he should be entering last weeks games into the system in the next day or two.
